NPR book critic Alan Cheuse assembled a lineup of summer reads. Included are both the new—Annie Dillard’s second novel, The Maytrees—and the old—books from Chekhov, Bradbury, John Gardner—in his list and there’s nary a diet book in sight, so you should feel free to eat a cookie while you read the books on Cheuse’s list.
