Up in Honey's Room
Walter Schoen is a German-born butcher living with his free-spirit American wife Honey Deal, in Detroit. He's also a dead ringer for Heinrich Himmler and a member of a spy ring sending U.S. war data to Germany and sheltering escaped German POWs.
Carl Webster of the Marshals Service is hunting escaped POW and former Afrika Korps officer Jurgen Schrenk, and he's pretty sure Walter's involved with hiding him. Carl gets to know Honey, hoping she'll take him to Walter. But Honey just wants Carl and a divorce. It's Elmore Leonard's worldgritty, funny, and full of surprises.
